Two stories this week from the global FPV scene: the Drone Racing World Cup made history by landing in northeast China, while the DCL season keeps building momentum; in the workshop, a new 33,800KV micro motor tops the hot-sale list and bigger Supernova motors enter the catalog. Here is the roundup.

01 Racing: Changchun World Cup Opens with 120 Pilots, DCL Momentum Grows

The 2026 Drone Racing World Cup (Changchun, China) opened on September 26 at the China-Korea (Changchun) International Cooperation Demonstration Zone — the first FAI-certified World Cup stop ever held in northeast China. Around 120 elite pilots from China, Spain, South Korea, Russia and more are battling in F9U multi-rotor racing across Open, Youth and Women's categories, four days of racing that put Changchun on the global FPV map.
The Youth class is where China's depth shows: pilots like Minjae Kim, Wang Siqing and Minchan Kim sit at the top of the junior standings, while 21-year-old Zeng Chen claimed gold for China in the drone systems category at the WorldSkills competition — a sign of how far the domestic drone pipeline has come.
The Drone Champions League keeps delivering drama. After VEXCEL Spain Drone Team took the Eagle Cup on September 20, the DCL announced Saudi DCL Season 2 with a human-versus-AI showdown, building on Mariyah Sulaiman Alhenaki's inaugural title. European club racing also wrapped its summer chapters as national championships across the UK and Italy crowned their 2026 champions.
China's stars remain fixtures abroad too: at the FAI World Cup in Istanbul earlier this month, Chinese pilots swept the Open Class podium, with GEMFAN-sponsored Zepeter taking the title.

For bigger platforms, the catalog just grew with the AOS Supernova 4220 — available in 1300KV, 415KV and 515KV to cover everything from fast 5-inch racing to long-endurance and payload flying, joining the Supernova 3220 and 3225 in a complete power family.

T-Motor keeps refreshing its racing line: the F60 PRO V covers 5-6 inch racing and freestyle in multiple KV, the VELOX V1507 is a 3-inch high-thrust option with 1.5mm / 5mm shafts for 4S or 6S, and the V3115 handles bigger racing frames. The F1404 (4600KV) joins the micro tier, while the Velox F7 SE 8S stack pairs an F7 flight controller with a 70A 4-in-1 ESC.

Video links keep getting cheaper without losing quality. The HDZero Race V3 VTX + Nano 90 V2 camera combo starts at just US$12.99 and bundles a free Y-type IPEX 87mm antenna — one of the most affordable routes into digital FPV. On the control side, the BAYCK Nano dual-band TX module (915MHz / 2.4GHz) works with mainstream radio links from US$52.99.

Frames and support gear are evolving too: the in-house FPVStoreRC STB5 racing frame pairs a compact 5-inch layout with rigidity and crash resistance, GEMFAN props deliver bright race-ready color options, and iFlight / T-Motor / Sequre round out a build-ready ecosystem.
