5. 🇷🇺 Russia's Odyssey System Extends FPV Range to 70 km
Russia's Aviatechnolab Design Bureau has developed the "Odyssey" airborne relay system, extending FPV drone range to approximately 70 kilometers (43 miles) beyond line-of-sight.
How It Works:
1、A relay drone hovers at altitudes up to 100 meters (328 feet)
2、Transmits control signals and video between ground pilot and strike drone
3、Bypasses radio horizon limitations caused by Earth's curvature
4、Can switch relay frequencies to resist jamming

The system has been tested and delivered to Russian airborne special forces (VDV) and funded through the Kremlin-backed Kulibin Club startup incubator for defense projects.
"A repeater drone bypasses these obstacles by transmitting the signal to the operator as if it were a communications tower. This extends flight time and also allows for low-level descents without losing video or control." — Aviatechnolab Design Bureau
