The motor is optimized for driving 2.5” Bullnose or 3” Freestyle Tri-blade props on 4S battery voltage. On the thrust test stand and in the air, Chris Rosser found the Supernova 1404 outperforms any other 1404 motor he’s tested on the market, producing more thrust and a faster response without sacrificing efficiency. The Supernova 1404 broaches no compromises, delivering the smoothest footage on a Cinewhoop and also blowing away the competition in dynamic freestyle flying.

For smooth, precise low-throttle control and breathtaking top-end power, AOS recommends applying throttle expo in Betaflight. Start with Throttle MID = 0 and Throttle EXPO = 0.20, adjusting EXPO to fine-tune your desired throttle response. Increase EXPO for greater precision at low throttle or reduce it for a sharper, more aggressive feel.
